Richmond players and officials have begun arriving at Punt Road following Damien Hardwick’s shock announcement to quit as senior coach.

Damien Hardwick has arrived at Punt Road following the bombshell news he is quitting as senior coach.

The three-time-premiership leader walked in with partner Alexandra Crow at 8.30am, making his way inside the club immediately via the side entrance.

Chief executive Brendon Gale, players and football mentor Neil Balme are already at the club, with some arriving before 7am.

Dustin Martin, Trent Cotchin and Jack Riewoldt have not yet been spotted.

No Richmond official has spoken with waiting media, with Hardwick expected to address the club this morning.

Richmond has confirmed that president John O’Rourke, Gale and Hardwick will front media at 10.30am.
