Ice Vikings Season 3 Episode 1 & 2: Release Date, Spoilers & Where To Watch

Part of an industry that makes about $20+ million annually, the show Ice Vikings is all set to continue showing us the working of the crew behind the scenes in fatally cold temperatures just so they could meet the winter fishing demand that the country has each year.

First seen on television on October 12th, 2021, the show was released as an 8-part series that would document the fishermen of Lake Winnipeg, who often go through extreme risks to catch fish from the lake. Being one of Canada’s largest lakes, the place is full of freshwater fish which are sold for high prices within the market.

As lucrative as it may seem, the time, equipment, and risks make it a job that only a few people can do. That’s the reason these fishermen are called modern-day Vikings. It usually shifts between various families and single fishermen that are all in the place for the same goal.

Some of the fishermen have worked on the lake for more than 40 years, making them not only well-experienced but also much better equipped with the strength needed for a job that’s done in an unforgiving environment.

The families that we’ll be seeing in the new season of Ice Vikings are the Kristjansons, Gimli, Trevor, Husavik, Justin, Mike, and Richard, as well as the newcomers, Elena and Jamie. The 3rd season of the Discovery documentary has been ordered for about 8 episodes. Craig Donnelly is a part of the show as its narrator.

Ice Vikings Season 2: Recap

In the previous episodes, the winter fishing season begins and the Ice Vikings head over to the lake only to see that the weather was getting worse each hour. Trevor and Riley find themselves in dangerous parts of the lakes that could break any moment and put them into the ice-cold water underneath. They go through with it despite the risks but see new glare ice forming that would make their work much harder.

Richard Bjarnson almost slips and risks his well-being due to the presence of glare ice. As the days pass by, Chris notices that the amount of fish they’ve managed to catch is far less than their goal. Trevor invests in new equipment and hopes it would help him in the long run. As for Justin and Mike, they change their location and head over to Husavik Bay.

With his father being much more experienced than him, Chris calls on his father’s help when he reis to locate the fish. At the bay, Justin and Mike try to use their Bomber B12. Harshest temperatures soon begin near the lake, with the thermometer dropping to -50 Celcius. Hopes of using their bomber to make things easier are washed away when Trevor and Matt’s vehicle breaks down mid-way. This causes the Kristjansons to rescue them.
